The greatest sign of God's love was giving His Son Jesus Christ to be the sacrifice for the world's sins. If a person believes that Jesus died for their sin and believes that He rose from the dead on the third day following they can repent of their sin and ask Jesus to be their Savior and from that time forward they can experience God's love first hand. I urge you to follow this path.

Jesus is the greatest evidence of God's love for us.

God is love. God is also wisdom. God also consists of many other attributes as well. God is also just. And sin must be judged. The penalty for sin is death. Unless God does something for us, none of us will survive the coming judgment.

Jesus said that God "so loved" the world (of men and women). From scripture it is clear that God loves man with a passionate love. This presents God and man with a terrible problem. How can He continue to love us if we have all been condemned?

Because God is just, He could not simply turn a blind eye to sin. Just like with us, crime demands justice. Justice demands that a penalty be exacted. Because "all have sinned" there are no men or women that can solve this problem for God. All must die.

God chose the most precious and costly means by which to judge sin without mankind having to be judged eternally. God sent His Son to pay the penalty for all men and women. This means that The Son of God had to endure a judgment that separated Him from His Father, something that scripture does not tell us has ever happened. On the cross God the Father threw at Christ all the wrath an infinite God could muster at Christ in order for God to be just and have the sinner live. None of us will ever know the full measure of Christ's suffering on the cross. The physical suffering was horrific, but the spiritual separation from God was more than He could endure, and He died. For us.

If God could have come up with any other means by which man's penalty for sin could be paid He certainly would have done so. This ought to help us understand how bad sin is, that God's Son had to die to pay its price.

So, is Jesus a sign of God's love? No doubt about it. What does that mean to you and me?
It means we can be rescued from judgment and have an eternal relationship with the living God through trust in His Son and in what His Son accomplished on that cross. God says He is satisfied that Jesus has paid our sin debt in full. Do you agree? Then turn to God and tell Him so and begin an eternal journey with your God and His Son Jesus Christ. You can be certain eternity with God is far better than the short-lived pleasures of sin now. You can also be certain that those who have passed away neglecting to turn to God would give anything to have another chance. You have the opportunity to avoid their mistake. Does God's love mean enough to you to say yes to His Son?
