Kansas City is in both states indeed (I live in Kansas). The majority and most of the attractions of Kansas city are on the Missouri side including the home of the nfl's chiefs, and mlb's royals. also home to the downtrown kansas city area. the kansas side is the smaller city with less attractions but still some including the home of the mls's wizards and a greatwolf lodge, schlitterbahn waterpark resort and the kansas speedway. KCK population=142,500 KCMO population=480,000. That should say it all right there. They kansas side is no more than a suburb of the kansas city MISSOURI metro. I live here on the kansas side.
Kansas City is the largest city in Missouri by population and area. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city had an estimated population of 495,327 in 2019, making it the 38th most-populous city in the United States.
I have been to K.C. several times on the Kansas and Missouri side so I would have to say it is in both states.
Neither. They were renamed and moved to OZ. Right, Toto?
ARF!!
Yes they are. This is fairly obvious, though you wouldn't think it.
Folks misunderstand cities in the US in the traditional sense because they've corrupted the word beyond recognition. Totally destroyed it's original intent. It's been reduced to rubble here and it has very little to do with what we think of as a rational city.
The FBI use the Kansas City metropolitan area in their crime stats ahead of the two municipalities because it has far more legitimacy as a single, bonafide city. I repeat, this is obvious, but some people are fixated on fixed municipal boundaries because they're called "cities".
Some people will find this shocking, but urban sprawl doesn't obey borders. It hasn't got a mind of it's own or a living brain.
It doesn't matter whether they're in a different municipality, county, state or country, they're the same city. Period.
There are cities with the same name in both Missouri and Kansas, and are just across the Missouri River from each other. Kansas City's metropolitan area has the distinction of being one of only three American cities (the others are St. Louis and New York) that have area in two states. However, the Kansas city is governed as part of Wyandotte County, Kansas, not as part of the larger city.
The Missouri state border is along the meandering Missouri River that flows through Kansas City, and the river separates the less-populated Kansas side from the Missouri side.
Kansas and Missouri are separate states, but the good part of Kansas City is in Missouri. Kansas City Missouri has the the Chiefs, the Royals, the zoo, the convention center, the old airport (the new airport is still on the Missouri side, but is not in Kansas City itself), Country Club Plaza, Linda Hall library, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Children's Mercy Hospital, Union Station, and pretty much anything else anyone not from the area has ever heard of. (The "corner of Twelfth Street and Vine" mentioned in the song was also on the Missouri side, but it only still exists in memorial form in a park; Vine now dead-ends about a block south of Twelfth Street.)
The Kansas side has Oklahoma Joe's BBQ and KU Medical Center. Admittedly one of those is pretty awesome and the other is a medical center.
Kansas City, abbreviated as "KCK", is the third-largest city in the State of Kansas, the county seat of Wyandotte County, and the third-largest city of the Kansas City metropolitan area. The city formed as a streetcar suburb of Kansas City, Missouri, after which it is named.
There are 2 cities named Kansas City There is Kansas City Kansas, and Kansas City Missouri
Missouri and Kansas both have cities named Kansas City.
Kansas City exists in both Missouri and Kansas.
Kansas City is in Kansas and Missouri because Kansas City is a rather large city; it is in Kansas but it crosses over the border and the larger part sits in Missouri, so it is considered a city in both Kansas and Missouri.
both! Kansas City, Missouri .... Kansas, USA.
Kansas City, Missouri has both.
None....Kansas City is not a state capital, it is just a city. There is a Kansas City in both Kansas and Missouri. The capital of Kansas is Topeka and Missouri is Jefferson City
Both exist. The state border is the Missouri River, and Kansas City (Kansas) is a suburb of Kansas City (Missouri) just across the river.
Kansas City , go to google & theres a park in Kansas city that sits right by the River
To add on to Wiki User's answer, Kansas City, Kansas is located in Wyandotte county Kansas, and Kansas City, Missouri is located in Jackson county Missouri. I know because I grew up on the Kansas side for most of my life.
Both Missouri and Kansas are acceptable states for their home delivery. https://customercare.kcstar.com/
Kansas City is a city in the state of Missouri. The professional sports teams based in Kansas City, Missouri, include the Kansas City Chiefs (NFL) and the Kansas City Royals (MLB).
That is the correct spelling of Kansas City (a city in Missouri, and a city of the same name in Kansas, just across the Missouri River from its namesake).
