I had lasek surgery on both eyes, one which has an astigmatism, and my vision has not deteriorated since the procedure. Every person is different but it's believed that this procedure will prevent further vision problems.
The common risks of LASEK eye surgery are, just after surgery you may feel a sensation similar to having dust in your eye, however in some case dryness can continue to persist so the patient would need to use eye drops.
Lasek and Lasik corrective eye surgeries have a few differences. Healing time in Lasik surgery is approximately 2 - 7 days and one is able to drive within a week. Lasek surgery can take a few days longer to heal, and one is unable to drive for a few weeks.
Yes there is! There is Yorkshire Eye Hospital, they specialise mostly in laser eye surgery like Lasik, Lasek, Wavefront and Zyoptix. Plus..its a free consultation, I'm going there next month for my surgery, I can't wait to be able to see properly again!
"The most common side effect to Lasik eye surgery is discomfort for the first 24 to 48 hours. Other possible side effects are glare, seeing halo around images, difficulty driving at night, fluctuating vision, and dry eyes."
A good place to start is your eye. Hope this helps!
There are many laser eye clinics which have good reviews as they must all reach a certain professional standard. One well known clinic is Park Avenue Lasek in New York.
Honestly it's probably not a good idea since you are still healing from a major surgery. However, you should consult the doctor who is performing your back surgery to see what he thinks.
Its depend on type of eye surgery. In many cases, you will get quick discharge after few hours, but it is good to stay at hospital for 1-2 days to get better care. doctorc.in is one of the good resource to get information on eye surgery.
Lasik eye surgery is usually around $1000 per eye. Make sure you go to a good surgeon that has good reviews before you go. The surgery should run you between $2000 and $2500.
Eye surgery
I have had mine done at Park Avenue LASEK Vision in New York by Dr. Chynn. Midtown itself can be little pricey, but it's definitely worth it to pay a little extra to have peace of mind. Dr.Chynn has made my surgery affordable, LASEK is the best Christmas present I ever got. Yes, I got LASEK the day before Christmas eve! I was very nervous, and on the fence about surgery, after all it is my eyes at risk. After long research I realized the LASEK is the way to go, it is much safer than LASIK because it does not cut your eye, because he doesn't have to cut a flap, therefore preventing ALL flap complications. I went to Park Avenue LAsek because they are the ONLY center in NYC that exclusively performs the safer LASEK procedure. I have never experienced dryness or discomfort through out the healing process ; however, Park Avenue Lasek offered me punctal plugs which relive that dry eye syndrome some people may have after surgery. I actually had this before LASEK, probably because I never use natural tears. Surgery was super quick and easy, the recovery was speedy, and I was shopping 3 days post op! I couldn't believe that I finally have the 20/20 vision I could never imagine waking up with . I thank Dr. Chynn very much and certainly recommend him as a doctor to any one who is looking to get rid of their glasses or contacts. Dr. Chynn is super smart, talking to him for a few minutes was like getting a lecture from a Harvard professor. After all, he went to 5 IVY league schools ( Harvard, Columbia, NYU, Emory, Dartmouth)
