Sony did make a LBP download free as part of the Customer Appreciation Program in June 2011 and it was one of 5 games that you could chose 2 free. There was also an additional free PSP option and you could also download the PSP version of the game for free

Both games come in versions that include free items not included in the other games and there is even a Special Move Bundle LittleBigPlanet 2 edition of the game on January 23 2012 it is 99.99 at amazon the LBP 2 with $35 in bonus items is $37.79 without $31.05 The earlier released Game of the Year LBP with $30 bonus items is $19.19 and the LBP without bonus items is $19.75 although both have been sold for less at amazon
