MapleStory (hosted by Nexon) is the version of MapleStory available to America, usually referred to as MapleGlobal. However, MapleStorySEA (hosted by Asiasoft) is only available to Singapore, Malaysia and the Phillipines. MapleStorySEA was originally part of MapleGlobal, though, and was once hosted by Nexon, until Asiasoft took over. Therefore, as of the current moment, they are not exactly the same.
Also, another main difference is that MapleGlobal receives updates to the game first, before MapleStorySEA does.
