Yes- and the number of members is growing
North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) formed in the year of 1949.
Turkey is a member of NATO, but NATO is not "Turkey's Organization". It was an organization founded by the United States, the United Kingdom, and several Western European States.

NATO stands for Northern Atlantic Treaty Organization. It protected the countries that unified with this Organization. (USA, Canada and the United Kingdom)
No. Canada is still a part of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. See 'related links' for more information.
NATO is an organization which, when it so desires, can put together an multi-national force, as it has done in Afghanistan. Potentially, all the military power of all the member nations of NATO can be used together for some objective that is considered important enough to justify such action. Even when there has been no military action undertaken by NATO there have still been joint training exercises.
No he could not, and in fact, no US president could. NATO is an organization comprised of twenty-eight member countries. One country might decide to withdraw from NATO, but the organization would continue to exist. Thus, even if the US under Mr. Trump left NATO, there would still be many other nations that would continue to participate. As the NATO website says, "NATO’s essential purpose is to safeguard the freedom and security of its members through political and military means." Of course, the US is considered a very important part of NATO, but with or without its participation, other nations would still be members.
Yes NATO is an intergovernmental organization. I found a reference to this on the following website: http://www.nato.int/docu/speech/2005/s050311a.htm.
