There are both rural and urban characters in Nevada. The population of Nevada is concentrated in Las Vegas and the Reno-Carson City areas. Most of the state is public land and most of that is essentially uninhabited. Small towns sparsely dot the landscape outside of the large metropolitan areas. Most towns are located on the main transportation corridors such as I-80 and I-15.
