Nirvana was an active band from 1989 to 1994. Now generally many bands from the sixties and seventies and even eighties are now called classic rock. Generally a band needs to have been around for roughly about 20 years to be considered old. And generally bands from the nineties are not considered old yet. of course, it could be old if the oldness described is older than the old of the oldness in which old is considered older than the oldest oldy of old.:]
