This is a difficult question to answer, since both groups have loyal fans and both groups have hit songs. Probably One Direction is hotter, since they have been seen and heard on the Disney Channel and may be better known than the Wanted. But on the other hand, it is not accurate to say that either band is "the hottest band in America," since there are a number of bands on the pop charts who have had more hits.
