I would have to say HELL NO. An 11 year old should NOT see this movie unless you are okay with them sleeping in your bed or with all the lights on in the house. My friend is 17 years old and had to sleep in his living room with every light in the house and t.v on. I myself almost left in the middle of the movie.
This movie is rated R, and it depends one the child. If the child get scared by ghosts and thing like that then probably not. But if they really want to see it then let them.
