Yes. On January 8, 2013 Nintendo announced the first games for Pokemon's sixth generation, Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, for the Nintendo 3DS. During this announcement 5 Pokemon were revealed: Chespin (the Grass Type Starter), Fennekin (the Fire Type Starter), Froakie (the Water Type Starter), Yveltal (the Dark/Flying Mascot for Pokemon Y), and Xerneas (the Fairy Type Mascot for Pokemon X). As of August 2016 the current U.S. Pokemon event involves players who have the 3DS games of X, Y, Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire going to GameStop stores and asking for a code card for the Mythical Pokemon; Arceus however the next U.S. event will feature a Nintendo Network distribution of Victini to the X, Y, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire games and in October Volcanion will be available as a GameStop code card event and Keldeo will be a Nintendo Network distribution.
