Safety in an ICT Room
Computers are not dangerous machines, but they do use mains electricity which is dangerous. For this reason pupils are asked not to interfere with the computers. If something is not working properly tell a teacher. Don't try to plug in or unplug the computer cables yourself. Don't try to open up the computer or move it and don't try to push anything inside it. If the teacher cannot solve the problem, they will ask a professional technician to come and repair the computer. Usually there will be spare computer in your ICT room and you will still be able to complete your work.
Computers are expensive machine and each one costs hundreds of pounds. We are all responsible for ensuring that our computers do not get damaged. To protect our computers and ourselves, we ask everyone not to run around or throw things in a computer room. We also ask everyone not to eat or drink in an ICT room because crumbles and spillages can cause computers to stop working. Make sure you keep all four legs of our stool on the ground and sit up straight to avoid getting a back ache. If you are using a computer in lots of lesson make sure you take some small breaks to rest your eyes and fingers.
