Can you run Mac OS 9 on Mac OS X using Boot camp?

The Boot Camp utility assists in setting up a Mac so that Windows can be installed. It will not run Mac OS 9. Boot Camp assistant lets you boot into Boot Camp which is a Windows type program to be able to install and use a Windows Operating System. Boot Camp installs Apple drivers and is basically the translator for Apples hardware like the keyboard, mouse, Airport, etc. OS 9 being a Mac OS, as old as it is, can't speak Windows. The new Mac OS was re-written to be able to use the same type Intel chip that Windows uses.

Is boot camp an utility that allows you to run Windows and Mac OS x at the same time?

Boot Camp is designed to help people setting up Windows operating system under back as dual boot solutions. Running Linux under Mac is a bit more complicated, there are other solutions of Mac/Linux (dual boot) Mac/Windows/Linux (triple boot). Installing Linux on a Mac with other operating systems on board requires advanced knowledge (especially boot loader [rEFIt] and Linux kernel compiling).

How many deaths have been caused by American boot camps?

There have been no deaths directly attributed to American boot camps of the military variety. While deaths of recruits do occur, and the causes of those deaths may be attributed to elements of training or the environment, boot camp is not the cause of death. The same is likely true of confinement or correctional boot camps.

Can you go straight from jrotc to rotc?

Yes. JROTC is in high school, ROTC is in college. Technically, you do not have to take JROTC at all to take ROTC. Generally, people who take ROTC in college are joining the military afterwards. The same in not necessarily true for JROTC.

Can you dual-boot Windows and Unix?

Yes. Some versions of Unix are capable of running on the same hardware as Windows. Mac OS X, a certified version of UNIX, includes a utility known as "Boot camp" to install Windows in a dual-boot setup easily. Solaris 10 can also be used in a dual-boot setup by carefully partitioning the drive and setting up GRUB.

How to Choose the Right Teen Boot Camp?

You might be reading this because you’ve thrown your hands up for the final time and are ready to send your child away to teen boot camp to really make a believer out of him/her. The truth is that it’s hard to send your teen away to “learn the hard way.” No parent ever wants to come to the end of the rope and find out that teen boot camp is the only solution left. However, sometimes it has to be done. Of course, sending your child away is hard, but in the midst of it all, choosing the right teen boot camp is even harder. You want your child to really take something away from the experience, but you might want that same experience to also be affordable. These are some things to consider when searching out a teen boot camp that will be perfect for you and your child. Your first step is to take a look at the things your child is doing. Do they have trouble with drugs or alcohol? Are they acting out in an uncontrollable manner? Are they disobedient no matter what you do or what kind of incentive you offer? You’ll want to pick among boarding schools that specialize in the specific problem areas your teen has. You’ll also want to focus on a teen boot camp that is both mentally and physically challenging. The point of sending your teen to boot camp is to open their eyes and develop appreciation and understanding of life and others. Also, how long are you planning on enrolling your child in teen boot camp? Most terms tend to be short, however long terms exist as well. Some long terms even allow the adolescent to attend the teen boot camp while returning home. Consider whether or not you’d like this type of schedule for your child. It will usually depend on the severity of the situation and the amount of money you’d like to invest in the teen boot camp. Lastly look online or locally for reviews of each teen boot camp as well. Some camps have reputations for being much too harsh. Find out what others are saying about your prospective camps.

How were you trained in World War 2?

Training varied according to the Military Force a person was put in or enlisted in. They went to boot camp which was the same as it is today. Exercise, drill, weapons training, training in fighting in all types of terrain (and some go to the cold areas too) and military rules, rules of engagement and some had to learn languages. After boot camp, many had to go to specialized training in tank warfare, large artillery training, flight school, medic training, etc. To this day the Marines still swear their boot camp is the hardest one.

Is naval academy easier than marine corps boot camp?

Basic training (boot camp) is required the summer before you begin at the Naval Academy. If you are thinking of the harshness of it all, the Marine Corps boot camp will be as it is concentrated into 3 months, however, the Naval Academy will stretch it out over 4 years. Due to the nature of the two it is not a fair comparison to think of them in the same context as their missions are different.

What college is the army ROTC the best at?

I have been wondering the same question as you. "What college is the army ROTC the best at" I have found out that the military doesn't rank college ROTC programs anymore but private companies do. So my suggestion is go to a book store and look for a book on the army ROTC and which colleges it is best at.

What base has the hardest boot camp?

THE MARINE CORPS IS THE TOUGHEST BOOT CAMP OUT THERE AND ONLY THE TOUGHEST SURVIVE. THERE IS NO IF ANDS OR BUTS. Responses to this will vary depending on the service. Typically and traditionally, Paris Island, South Carolina for the USMC is considered one of the toughest. I will say, the Marines are very tough, but the Army is right up there with it, and the Air Force, is becoming way more like the Army and the Marines in that their PT is just as challenging, they learn the EXACT same stuff the others do, tactics, rifle usage, etc. The same amount of stress is put on them, and they carry the same attitudes that you Mighty Marines do. Marines probably have the toughest boot camp with the Army right there with it, followed by the Air Force.
