There is no nuclear detonation on The Walking Dead TV series. The only detonation of any size comes at the end of season one, "TS-19." When the last of the fuel keeping the CSC running is used up, the Wildfire Protocol is engaged, and a thermobaric (fuel-air) bomb destroys the complex and the disease samples contained in the vaults. While a thermobaric detonation is the largest convention man made explosion, it is has no radioactive elements, and Rick and the other group members are ostensibly outside the blast radius.

No, but doctor Edwin Jenner found something odd about his blood. He is immune to zombie scratches, but if he gets bit he will die and be a zombie.
