No, Rutgers is not as good of a school as everyone makes it out to be. Better schools for a bs in marketing are Yeshiva University, Touro, and Rider University.

Other people with a lot of extracurricular activities and such- sports, clubs, good SATs also help a lot. I think if you get above 1200 in math and verbal you should be fine as well.
