Sarah Louise Heath Palin was the governor of Alaska, and was vice presidential nominee in the 2008 election against Barack Obama. She has authored a book called "Going Rogue", and is currently a contributor/commentator with Fox News. She is a figure of a somewhat controversial nature. A strongly opinionated female politician, but with conservative views at odds with traditional women's groups. There are also concerns about her over all political acumen, as she has not come across very well in interviews.
By all accounts of public records, Sarah Palin has made upwards of $12 million dollars. This includes $7 million from her book, "Going Rogue", $250,000 per episode of her reality show, an undisclosed amount from Fox news and her upcoming second book. Also she receives $100,000 per speaking engagement.
Newt Gingrich IS listed as a Fox New Contributor. This means Fox News can call on him to participate in panels or as an expert in his field and pay him for that appearance as they do someone like Juan Williams or Sarah Palin. However, once Newt Gingrich entered into the race for President of the United States, he can no longer be used in that capacity. Any appearance he makes on Fox News is that of a candidate and he receives NO payment for that appearance. Each candidate is generally offered equal time and they do NOT receive payment for their appearance. Each candidate considers time spent on a National News network as free advertising.
Having wrote a book, she now works as a commentator at Fox News.
