In Scientology we have "The Basics". The Basics are a collection of 18 books, all written by founder of the religion L. Ron Hubbard, that cover all the principles and practices of our religion. These books can be obtained from the publishers "Bridge Publications" (for the US) or "New Era Publications" (for Europe). The books are also sold on the Scientology website or in any Scientology Bookstore inside a Scientology Church around the globe. Millions of Scientology books are now also available in more than 151,000 libraries in 192 countries so that a person can just walk into a library and read them for free. The basics represent a chronological path of research and development. It is extremely important, to have a full understanding, that a person follow the correct order in studying these materials. For example, the first books introduces new words and meanings, that are not repeated in the second book. More words and meanings are added in the second book which are not repeated in the third. Which books do scientologists use?

There dozens of Scientology books written by L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology.Scientology means a study of knowledge, and thus Scientology has many books, as there is a lot to study. But the book that started it all was not a Scientology book. It was a Dianetics book. Scientology is a study of life, what are you, that life force that makes decisions. Dianetics is the study of the mind, your mind. Your mind is what you look at to work out the decision. So it is you who is doing the looking. It is the mind you look to.But Dianetics is the one that started it all, and had six reprints in 1950 before it slowed down selling. What started the whole thing was not just another book on the mind. Hundreds of those come out each year. It was this mental state called Clear that L. Ron Hubbard wrote of. It was pretty quickly realized in Scientology this state was what we were all searching for, spiritually as well. Its best description is still in the book Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health. There are other Dianetics books written before and after this one. But this is the one that started all the trouble and got people flocking to it.

What is scientologists?

A Scientologist is an individual who practices Scientology as a religion. Scientology is a body of beliefs and related practices initially developed by Science Fiction author L. Ron Hubbard in 1952 as an outgrowth of his earlier self-help system, Dianetics.[1] Hubbard later characterized Scientology as an "applied religious philosophy" and the basis for a new religion.[1] Scientology encompasses a spiritual rehabilitation philosophy and techniques, and covers topics such as morals, ethics, detoxification, education and management. http://www.scientology.org/
