The international title of the straight-to-DVD movie The Lion King 1½ in 2004 was titled The Lion King 3 but it did not advance the Lion King story so no there is not nor will there be a Lion King 3.
It was a prequel of sorts featuring Timon & Pumba and what was going on in their lives during the events of The Lion King before & after they meet Simba.
There is a live action version of The Lion King slated for a July 19th 2019 release.
