I don't know what the question is supposed to mean. The US is in North America (except for Hawaii, which is an island). Directly south of (most of) the US is Mexico, which is still in North America. South of North America is the rather unimaginatively named South America. South of that is Antarctica.So, if the question is "what continents lie directly south, albeit a long way south, of the US", then the answer is "South American and Antarctica".
