asda is cheaper than tesco BUT tesco and asda sometimes make the foods cheaper because when nobody buys the item tesco and asda make the item cheaper like 25 pence or 15 pence only when the item is nearly out of date
One of the reasons that shopping with Tesco is cheap is because it will match the deals of any other supermarket if proof of a lower price is bought. Having a Tesco membership card also allows for better deals and cheaper prices.
