I would say so. It has an excellent plot and complex story. It also has diverse characters.
Well, there is another series called the Secret Series ( First book: The Name of This Book is Secret, Second Book: If You Are Reading This, It's Too Late, Third Book: This Book is Not Good For You). They are really witty and funny, and even though they are a close second to The Mysterious Benedict Society, nothing could ever be as good as it. You should check out the Secret Series (the author is Pseudonymous Bosch).
A really good book if your looking for a shortish book is called Summer of Fear or a book called The Giver. If your looking for a long book then read The Mysterious Benedict Society.
Uh. NO. I don't understand why they would have a good character die in a children's book. Don't worry. He's..well not exactly FINE...broken a little...
Nope, actually it is an adult book. Trenton Lee Stewart did write a series of 3 MYSTERY BOOKS for children, though. They are called The Mysterious Benedict Society, and I think they are really good!! :D
basically, its an action novel, it's very good, it's my fav book :) ^ that's a terrible answer, they asked for themes, not an opinion. anyways, i would say some of the more prominent themes of this book include Facing fears, Teamwork, and the importance of family or finding and cherishing family.
Poison Apples. I also associate those with the mysterious benedict society (really good book!) also, disney trying to draw witches that look more like hags from Harry Potter. Teehee! LOL :D
Well these particular chapter books would be for 10-12 year olds (I'm 11 and I LOVEEEE them). These are all ONE series:The Mysterious Benedict SocietyThe Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous JourneyThe Mysterious Benedict Society and the Prisoner's DilemmaThey are all by Trenton Lee Stewart and cover about 400 something pages. But they are sooooo good! Some words are complicated but still easy for brains to comprehend. You know, I'm starting not to sound much like an 11 year old. Haha. The first book is about four children chosen to be sent on a secret mission to stop an evil mastermind from brainsweeping everyone around the world, but they also must keep their identity a secret from anyone who might be able to harm them. These have been awarded as "Golden Sowers". Or--really good books that have been awarded for a reason. These books are mostly about friendship. Really heartwarming, swashbuckling, and of course--mysterious at the same time.If you have kids that have just started reading chapter books, I would suggest the "Junie B. Jones" series by Barbara Park. Very skinny books. ;).They are about a kindergartener that learns lessons while being cute and curious. I used to read them. :)Hope that helps!
Barnes & Noble. It came out on April 27, 2010. Good book ending very mysterious.
The Heroes of Olympus Harry Potter The Mysterious Benedict Society The Chronicles of Narnia Warriors Uglies City of Ember
Yes, it's a very mysterious book at the beginning but it makes you want to read more by the end of it. The Name of this Book is Secret is my favorite book. I highly recommend it.
