How many children have grown up loving Toto! Toto was actually a dog named Terry (November 17, 1933 – September 1, 1945). She was a female Cairn Terrier performer. Most famously, she is remembered as Toto in the 1939 movie The Wizard of Oz. Not only was Oz her only credited role, she was credited not as Terry but as Toto! Terry was owned and trained by Carl Spitz who permitted us to fall in love with his dog in in 16 different movies.
