i think that Greece is closer to the equator because of the random weather changes
The Prime Meridian crosses territory in England, France, Spain, five countries in Africa, and Antarctica, but no part of the US.
It's on the west side.
The Prime Meridian connects the north and south poles, so there's no such thing as 'north' or 'south' of it ... every place on Earth is either east or west of it. Now, since the Earth is spherical (shaped like a ball), you can reach any place on Earth by heading out either east or west from the Prime Meridian. It's just that the trip will be longer in one direction and shorter the other way. Mexico, as well as the US, Canada, and all of North and South America, are all closer to the Prime Meridian if you start out from it heading west.
Longitude
Neither Canada nor the US touches either the equator or the Prime Meridian. Each of them covers a huge range in latitude and longitude. The figures can easily be found on line or in an atlas.
Prime Meridian
The Prime Meridian, also called the Greenwich Meridian, is 0 degrees longitude. The observatory where the Meridian is defined is in Greenwich, England. The line passes from the North Pole through England, Europe, Africa, and ends at the South pole in Antarctica. Opposite the Prime Meridian is the International Date Line, or the Ante-Meridian. The choice of the Meridian is entirely abitrary. At various time the Meridian has been set at other locations. The US even used Washington, DC, as the Prime Meridian. Standardization was important for global navigation, so it was finally agreed to use Greenwich as the meridian "0" reference. This is especially convenient because the Ante-Meridian dateline is located where there are no large land masses.
Since the Earth is spherical (shaped like a ball), you can reach any country you're headed for by going either east or west from the Prime Meridian. The only thing is that one direction or the other is always the shorter trip. All of North America and South America are closer to the Prime Meridian going west from it, a big part of the reason why the part of the world they're in is called the "Western Hemisphere". To reach any country in North America or South America from the Prime Meridian, you'd want to head out towards the west. A few examples include the US, Belize, Suriname, French Guiana, and Martinique.
Since the earth is a sphere (a ball), you can reach anywhere by going either direction from anywhere. But the trip is usually shorter in one direction than in the other. From the Prime Meridian, the trip to North America or South America is shorter if you head out going toward the west.
George airy
It doesn't pass through any US cities but it does pass through London, England.
