Whitney Houston is dead. She died on February 11, 2012 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California at the age of 48. She was found unconscious in the bathtub of her hotel room. The official cause of her death was ultimately released a month later, and toxicology tests showed that she had died from drowning, but that prolonged use of cocaine had weakened her heart, contributing to her death. A funeral was held on February 18, 2012, in the New Hope Baptist Church, Newark, NJ (the church she attended as a child); Whitney Houston was buried the following day at the same cemetery where her late father is also buried.
