Yes and no. Live is definitely better than the PS3's online because with Live, you are not as limited with doing certain things.
You aren't paying for the fact that yo have a Kinect add on. You're paying for the use of Xbox Live which requires constant watch and editing by Microsoft and the xbox team. You are paying for that smooth live experience.
