Yes a 15 year old is too old for a 12 year old. The 12 year old is in 6th grade while the 15 year old is in high school. The maturity levels of each is miles apart even though it is only 3 years, but at this age that makes a difference. When you are 20 and 23 that no longer makes any difference.
