Damn good car! I can`t speak for the 4 cylinder versions nut the V-6's, hell yeah. If properly maintained you can't kill 'em. Oh you'll have occasional repairs like wheel bearings, intake manifold gasket, fuel pump, but overall a very reliable car. And fun to drive. They dress up nicely too (Ever seen one with a molded fiberglass hood-scoop? Totally changes the look of the whole car.)

I have a 2000 Malibu and it does not have a tranny dipstick. You have to check fluid under car, there is a check hole on the trans. It's a pain in the butt.

the radiator drain plug is on the bottom right facing car from front. you may have to remove the sheild to get at it. my 2000 malibu uses a allen wrench to loosen the drain plug for the radiator. good-day !
I know I saw a routing diagram in the engine compartment of my 2000 Chevy Malibu. Yours should have it too unless too worn. I think it is near the belts/front of car.
