It very definitely is a good car. The 2002 Escort was the last model year for the 3rd generation of Escorts. When the 3rd generation of Escorts were starting to be made in 1997, Ford had already been building them since 1980. So they had all the bugs worked out in the last model year. I have a 97 which has 205,000 miles on it and I have never had anything go out on it except brakes and belts and a battery or two which are normal wear out items on any car. Good car!
yeah, they are strong and relaiable :)
As long as the motors are the same you should be good.
Good Car for the money
It has no frame. It is a unibody construction.

Look on top of your console for a round plug, unplug it and with a thin screwdriver, push a switch in downwards; This, will release it;Good luck.Justo-at:evega1@stny.rr.com

Good question.
1200-1400 dollars if it is in good shape and runs good
If the belt's good, check the compressor clutch.
open the hood disconnect the cables put the new battery where the old one was(look in the book where you are getting the battery to see what size you need) an reattach cables, for my 99 escort i need a ten metric wrench to get the cables off...good luck
