It seems average for Freshman year. This is like freshman year in High School. You get dished all the easy courses unless you came in with a bunch of credits[ having taken AP courses or being advanced in a subject such as math or science]. It's average. It's not high. If you have that kind of average Junior year then that is high. If you have that average senior year then that is high. Sophmore year it's still about average.. but it depends on the courses that were taken... It seems average for Freshman year. This is like freshman year in High School. A 3.3 is a B+, good enough to get you into a decent university. Scholarships begin at a 3.0 GPA. Your involvement in extracurricular activities and sports is also taken into consideration. A student with a 4.4 average who has not been involved in any extracurricular activities or sports, may be disfavored over someone with a 3.9 average, who has made it to all-state or has gained 1000 points in their sport, on varsity. Sports are huge when it comes to application time. For every .4 off from a perfect GPA, consider trying something new. Maybe batmittion is starting in March? Good leadership is very critical, colleges will want to know "was he/she the leader of this or that?" Being president of student council is attractive. Colleges look at all four years now, however junior and senior year are still the most critcial. Continue doing well like you are, even try upping your GPA, maybe to a 3.7? You're a freshman, you plenty of time, try visiting your guidance counselor about possible options. Hope this helps! :) A 3.3 is a B+, good enough to get you into a decent university. It is a good GPA, but it really depends on where you want to go in the future. if you want to go Harvard or Princeton, its a pretty crappy GPA in their eyes

but overall, its pretty good.

Aim higher though. The higher, the better.

:-)

Princeton & Harvard would want a

3.5 GPA or higher with a 4.0 scale

If your high school is going to a 5.0 scale

Make it a ratio....

for example my GPA is 4.61 in 5.0, and yours is 4.61 as well.

4.61/5 = 3.68/4

when divided they both equal to:

0.922

Divide 4.61 into 5 then multiply your answer into 4, and then you get your score with a 4.0 scale.

:)

I'm not sure why schools just don't do the same, but I guess that's how life is.

it's alright. depending on what kind of colleges youre striving for. If you are striving for schools like Harvard/Stanford, honestly, you will need to step it up. if you want to boost your gpa, take honor courses. but only if you think you'll be able to handle it and get an A/B they will look better on your transcripts.

Yes, it is very good. It is only 4 points from an A so that means you have a B+ and that is good solid GPA. Keep up the good work !
