Is a 7 month old Staffordshire bull terrier right for a 10 year old girl like me and im tough?

Staffordshire bull terriers are dogs who really like younger people so a 7 month old Staffie could be a very good dog for you, but you have to make sure he/she gets lots of walks and exercise and that she is disciplined from the beginning to know that you are the pack leader.

I don't know. Pit them together and find out! -------- Yes but not if all things are equal. An Adult wild fox if attacked by a border terrier would kill the terrier. Wild animals are fast and tough, domesticated animals slow and soft....and apparently tasty according to coyotes that hang around towns and cities.

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier is unfortunately severely stereotyped. Just because a dog is born a Staffy does not make it aggessive. Staffords are portrayed by the media as uncontrollable and vicious, when in actual fact, the largest number of dog bites in the UK come from Golden Retrievers - yet you never hear of such attacks happening. This is because newspapers target breeds which look tough and hardy, such as Staffys, Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, Dobermanns and German Shepherds. It is true that when raised incorrectly these dogs (like any breed) can develop aggression, but when treated correctly and brought up well, these can be the very best family dogs. PLEASE, SAY NO TO BREED SPECIFIC STEREOTYPE.

Then, there is the "American pit bull terrier", which I have not seen, or heard of in quite some time, although I am sure they are still around. Then there is the most common show/fight dog, which is the "American Staffordshire bull terrier", and a miniature version of those called "American Staffordshire Bull Terrier," which these days, people are calling them "pocket pits." Now, there are sub catergories that brak down like this. And, as far as I know, these only apply to the most common, the Am Staff. A brindle, a red nose, and a blue nose. There is only a difference of colors, and markings, on those, however, they say the red nose is the meanest/toughest, but I don't really know about that. They are, however the most common when it comes to fighting. The blue nose are getting a bad rep. right now do to poor breeding techniques. They all can be mean, if they have bad owners, and all are tough. I do remeber, vaguely, before I got into them, something about a "red tip", which was supposed to have 5 red points. 2 eyes, a red nose, and 2 red tipped ears. But, I have not seen, or heard of one of those, since I was a kid....Chuck.
