Something has broken in the rear axle.Something has broken in the rear axle.
no cavaliers are front wheel drive and s10 is rear wheel drive tranny wont mount in right position (i own both a 96 s10 and a 97 cavalier)
Yes.
No it is too short.
Front or Rear Wheel Drive?? If Front Wheel Drive, look on the front (facing the radiator/a.c. cooler assembly) and Starter should be on bottom at Transmission coupling which when facing Engine from front will be on your Right. The Starter engages the Flywheel on the Transmission. If Rear Wheel Drive, look on Passenger Side of Engine bottom at Transmission Coupling. There may or not be a Starter Dust Cover. Bolts will most likely be Metric.
First place, 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive transmissions will NOT interchange they are different. There is only 2 years that will work in the 96 and that is a 96 and 97 4L60E 4-wheel drive transmission.
The ONLY 2 years that will work is 96 and 97 4L60E transmission. If it is a 4-wheel drive then it must be a 4-wheel drive transmission. If it is a 2-wheel drive then it must be a 2-wheel drive transmission. 2 wheel and 4 wheel drive transmissions will not interchange.
Unless you have an All Wheel Drive Civic, your car does not have a transfer case. A transfer case is a device that is usually connected to the transmission. In four wheel drive vehicles, it can be selected to provide power to the front and rear axle, thus engaging four wheel drive. Unless your civic is All Wheel Drive, your car is front wheel drive only. You do not have a transfer case to send power to your rear axle to turn your back wheels. I'm not familiar with any all-wheel-drive Civics made in the US in 1996, but than again I don't know where you're from, and Honda could have made one that I don't know about.
When I took my 96 Caravan to be aligned they said there is no rear adjustment that can be done.
No, they are different.
The four wheel drive light is most Likely staying on when your Isuzu Rodeo is in two wheel drive because of a bad sensor. A licensed auto technician would be able to replace this for you.
No. For one, the transmission from the 96 will be electronically controlled, vs. the mechanically controlled transmission in the 1990.
