Although there are exceptions for genre, typically the craftsmanship of a legitimate Gibson Les Paul far exceeds the typical craftsmanship of a typical BC Rich.
Either a Les Paul or an Oristacrat
the most stereotypical choices are neck maple - fender stratocasters to bc rich , jackson and ibanez guitars mahogany - Gibson les paul , Dean guitars and so forth body alder - fender stratocasters , certain bc rich and jacksons basswood - almost every ibanez and beginner guitars mahogany - gibson les paul , dean , schecter , esp , pretty much every company uses mahogany
BC Rich guitars have got many styles and models. Among the famous models are BC Rich Beast and Warlock. However, if one wants to buy a guitar, they would better read some reviews and use the experience of the players. BC Rich guitars are very tempting in style, but there could be better choices out there that have got better function.

BC Rich usually , I got a used Bich guitar for 200$ with a licensed Floyd rose locking tremolo. But nothing wrong with Ibanez Jackson Kramer or LTD, as long as it has EMG's and its neckthrough you won't be able to put it down. my pick though shape and sound is a BC Rich Warlock Deluxe , cheaper than a standard Gibson Les Paul and it will blow them out of the water.

three kinds... BC Rich Warlocks (6 and 7 string) , BC Rich Beast V's and BC Rich V's hes been endorsed by BC Rich forever, stay far away from the ones that don't have EMG's and no kahlers they aren't true Kerry King guitars.
info@bcrich.com is how I found out the years of all my BC Rich guitars, they advertise it only on the handcrafted site.
I own a BC Rich and I feel it is a good guitar. It has a strong body and neck and I play heavy metal on it. It is a good guitar
Slash's Les Pauls from the Appetite for Destruction days were actually copies one was a 59 Les Paul copy and the other I don't know but it was a les paul copy that was made by a guy named Derrig and was extremely good, sadly Derrig is no longer in the business as far as I've heard. Here's the story-Derrig had built the guitar already when the AFD sessions started. It was in the display window of Music-Works. Alan Niven came in and said that Slash was using a BC Rich guitar for the AFD sessions that wasn't cutting it for the tone, etc.Alan asked the owner if he had anything he could try. The owner said he didn't have much, but there was a Les Paul in the window that was built by Derrig. Alan asked to check it out. Jim put Alnico II SD pickups in it, & sent it off with Alan for Slash to try. The guitar never came back, but Alan came back and wrote them a check for it AFTER the AFD sessions were over. He said Slash loved it, it was perfect for the AFD sessions. End of story, except he eventually got a 2nd Derrig from another source, I don't know who.
that's a state of opinion, mine is Gibson. they're high quality and are well known. and they lasted the test of time and came out on top.
