36.4 degrees is fine. In fact, any temperature within 36-37 is perfectly healthy. If you get temperatures of <35 or >37.5 degrees it may be cause for concern. A fever of 39.5 degrees landed me in hospital once, but wasn't fatal.

Just remember, if your child's been doing any running around (not that they would if they were really sick) or drinking hot drinks whilst sitting in front of a fire, you should wait for them to rest somewhere away from the fire for a few minutes before taking a reading.
