Well, i have a cavalier king Charles spaniel. He is really good with kids and likes being active. He doesnt min being stuck inside. In m opinion this dog breed is best! My opinion is golden retriever. There calm gentle animals

As long as they're trained not to go poop inside if you leave he/she in an enclosed area (that isn't the kitchen) with water and a chew toy, he/she will be just fine for an hour or two on there own.
