Oh dear. Since I think this response is to the same person who asked me if civets have hooves [no], I guess I better start from the beginning. The common palm civet is a medium sized land mammal, family Viverridae. It is also known as the Asian palm civet [Paradoxurus hermaphroditus]. Yes, it is the one from which is derived Kopi Luwak.
Depends on the civet. If it lives in a house, and that house is in the western world, its name could be Charley for all I know. On the other hand, if you are wondering about an extra common name for all civets, I have read that they are called, of all things, toddycats.
"Civet" is pronounced as ˈsi-vət.
Not really, no. Not even kind of, sorry. The civet is a medium sized land mammal, native to Africa and parts of Asia. It looks something like a cat if you crossed that cat with a raccoon, added a few bits of ferret and maybe one or two of lemur. They often have spotted or striped coats, probably for camouflage. They do not have hooves.
