You can use both variations. Wiktionary lists "time-travel" as an alternative spelling to "time travel", so it seems "time travel" is the more common version.
No, you turn clocks back as you travel west into other time zones, but you advance by 24 hours when you cross the international date line westward.
The Laws of time travel are as follows: Never cross your own time time,(could cause a paradox between you and the fabric of time itself, causing a spacual transference between the earths rupture and gravitational movement) Do not touch or change any part of the past ( it would erase future developement and changing the world around you as you see it) the past is fixed and cannot be changed. Only travel to visit not corrupt Dr Jay Edmond (Researcher in spacual developement)

No. Time is a separate dimensional quantity.
A temporal rift is a tear in spacetime and an extremely dangerous temporal anomaly. Encounters with temporal rifts usually end with the vessel making contact with the rift being transported to a different time and space.

It already is. You can time travel for at most a few days when you cross the dateline. If we could possibly make a larger dateline and compress it like our intestines, crossing that could possibly time travel more. There is one glitch however, you have no control over where and when you travel to. NOTE: This is only a theory. The larger dateline has not been tested.
Long refers to time and the time it takes to cross the US is dependent on the distance it is across the US and the rate of travel used. As there are various rates of travel possible then there is a range of times for crossing the country.
