No, it's impossible for diamonds to be in liquid state. Diamond is just an allotrope of carbon, that is, it is made of atoms of carbon arranged in crystal structure. Some different allotrpes of carbon are: graphite, nanotubes or fullerene. Any process of trying to liquify diamond will result in destryoing the crystal structure and the result would not bear any resemblance to diamonds whatsoever. Moreover, carbon doesn't melt, instead it vaporizes.

∙ 10y agoDiamonds do not typically form at room temperature. They are formed within the earth at very high temperature and pressure conditions. When they are brought to the surface, they actually begin the process of decomposition into graphite. However, the decomposition is so kinetically slow, that the diamond is virtually constant in its phase. It is important to understand that diamond is just a phase of carbon and that the room temperature and pressure version of carbon is graphite, not diamond.
