A degu is simply a cross between a kangaroo-rat and a gerbil. A kangaroo-rat isn't a kangaroo and a rat, it's just a type of rat; just like a pitbull is a type of dog... not it's own species. It's a member of the rodent family. So if you consider rodents mammals, then yes... it's a mammal.
yes it is possible to tame a degu
This all depends on what gender your degu is. If you have a male degu, you should get a male degu, but if you have a female degu you should get a female degu. In other words you should get same sex pairs. But oviously if you want to breed get a male and a female, but be warned they breed like crazy!
Mountain Degu was created in 1844.
i have one degu i rescued from a place where they adpoted off his fellow degu separate and he was there for a while. i need to get him a new degu play mate....any places in southern maine??
Degu Debebe was born on 1984-01-01.
I don't understand why this is under car buying, but regardless, no, degus are not endangered. They are actually the furthest away from being such. Chinchillas, on the other hand, and pretty close. -Owner of twelve degus. Have had twenty-three.
Degu's can lose their tails as a form of defense, a degu should NEVER be picked up by it's tail. their tails do not grow back
a degu averagely weighs about 5-8 ounces
Only if you want the degu to be killed and quite possibly eaten.
Predators of the Degu include different varieties of bird and foxes.
Degu's originate in Chile, a country on the western side of South America
I'm not quite sure what you mean by this question. Degus are shaped like a degu.
