because it shakes the world and knocks everything over.
Earthquake is a deadly disater. It can caused other disaters. It might shake the ocean causing a tsunami and shakes the hill causing serious landslides. It will destroy all buildings in a community. An earthquake can make a huge loss of population and finicial loss of money. Millions of people die because of earthquakes.
Because when the plates are pushing against each other for a moment they don't move. After a while the pressure becomes too much and there is a sudden jolt. This sudden jolt releases a large amount of energy that creates a large amount of destruction. The miss placement of land and soil also is very destructive towards buildings, such as the Haiti earthquake.
it depends on the scale of the earthquake and where it hits. For example, a big earthquake will cause large amounts of damage in a well built area but will cause hardley any damage in a not very wel built up area. Also a small earthquake could cause a large amount of damage in a place where the soil/ground is lose/wet. Hope i helped high-5 yay
They can result from doing nothing at all (In fact, most earthquakes are so weak that nobody can even feel it!) to destroying building, killing people, and causing tsunamis! (In fact, some are even stronger!)
Because, it shakes the ground and moves plates around, and we live above ground you can fall and feel the plates move around
Yes it was very near the epicentre of the earthquake
The Richter scale is not a linear scale. This means that an earthquake of magnitude 6 does not have twice as destructive power as the earthquake of magnitude 3. Actually, an earthquake with magnitude 5 is ten times more destructive than an earthquake of magnitude 4. The Richter scale is a logarithmic scale.
Earthquakes can be both a constructive and destructive force. When the fault lines move they can cause incredible damage (destructive) and they also can cause new land formations (constructive).
You can feel it because the waves of the earthquake are very destructive depending on the type of earthquake. The wave you might be feeling is the last wave of the earthquake which is the slowest, but the most powerful. Hope this helped! :)
No, the S waves do, they are the most destructive, because they have a bigger ratio of Antinodes and nodes. AKA Destructive interference.
Destructive. Destructive means destroying and constructive means to make something. An earthquake is both destructive and constructive.
A strong earthquake can be very destructive.
An earthquake in some sense is both constructive and destructive.
Yes it was very near the epicentre of the earthquake
tsunami
both constructive and destrutive
California
This just a bad sight
Becuase it cause more damage
It depends on how big the earthquake is. A big earthquake will cause more damage to the area.
The most destructive earthquake in US history was the Prince William Sound earthquake. This earthquake did extensive damage across the Gulf of Alaska.
because it shakes the world and knocks everything over.
