The farm ecosystem is different from a forest or a meadow ecosystem because humans control many of the interactions among the things on the farm. If you have trouble understanding a farm ecosystem go to the website and it will help you! Hope that helped!

By definition, an ecosystem is the combination of biotic (living organisms) and abiotic matter (soil, water, sunlight, climate, etc.) in a complex cycle of life. The two major forces that link these constituents together are the nutrient cycles and flow of energy. So, in essence, yes a farm is an ecosystem, albeit a different type of ecosystem than the natural ecosystems found in the Rocky Mountains, the Amazon jungle and the African Savannah. A farm is more of a man-made ecosystem, however the only "man-made" parts of farming is tilling and sowing of monocultures of crops and the management of livestock. The farm is still using the combination of biotic and abiotic components typical of every ecosystem as well as the cycling of nutrients and energy flow, though differently according to Nature's standards.
