Feline is not a gender, it means "like a cat" when used as an adjective. It generally refers to the way someone moves. Though feline movement is often applied to women, there are men whose motion is also noted as being feline. The two genders of felines are often referred to, at least among the smaller cats, as "toms" and "queens".
Faline (not Feline which refers to Cats) was the name of Bambi"s female friend, love interest, whatever. Why they chose this name instead of say Doreen () which at least has the sound of Doe)- or maybe Sylvia, she of the Forest, I don"t know. Faline sounds too much lilke Feline- which refers to Cats.
