∙ 13y agoIt's a diagram that shows the inter-dependence of living things, example,
leaf->caterpillar->chicken->human (this is a food chain) The arrows represent "consumed by" so in other words, the food chain above means
[leaf] is consumed by [caterpillar], [caterpillar] is consumed by [chicken], [chicken] is consumed by[humans]
And a food web, would be much complicated with arrows pointing towards different directions.
normally, a food chain/food web, would begin with a plant, because they do not consume other animals(I don;t know about Venus Fly Trap), they make their own food through photosynthesis, and so, there will not be any arrows pointing towards it from other animals in the food chain/food web.

∙ 14y agoA food web and food chains both involve showing what eats what, but they are different because in a chain, it just shows predator vs. prey and a web actually shows what prey and predators go together!

A food web is when two or more food chains interconnect because some of the species is each food chain also eat one another.
