Assuming the content is the same, then really it's a matter of personal choice. A cheap hardbound Bible in an inexpensive zippered cover will probably protect the pages at least as well if not better than a leather cover, and often additionally provide pockets in which to keep pens, highlighters, sticky notes to bookmark particular passages, and the like.
