If a pipette has graduations marked on it, it implies that it is a multi-volume pipette. A fixed pipette only uses one volume all the time, and has no need for graduations.
Not to say that someone couldn't mark graduations on a fixed volume pipette, in order to be overly thorough.
Graduated pipettes are not as accurate as volumetric pipettes, because each graduation line is not individually calibrated, and any imperfection in the internal diameter will have a greater effect on the volume delivered. In volumetric pipettes, the diameter of the pipette where the graduation mark is located is significantly smaller because the majority of its volume is located in the bulb.
A TD pipette delivers a fixed volume of liquid, while a TC pipette can be adjusted to deliver different volumes.
Pipette is the most accurate apparatus because it is fixed apparatus and its answers can come in both either single graduated or multiple graduated. it has tap sort of thing at the end which makes it more accurate! thankyou -Fatima Bajwa
Liquids have a definite volume but no definite shape. You can measure the volume easily by pouring a liquid into a graduated container. But as for its shape, it simply adopts the shape of whatever you pour it into.
A 50ml fixed volume pipette. Graduated pipettes are less accurate, multiple pipettes are bad for accuracy, and most other glassware is bad for accuracy. Also look for the highest class pipette available
A liquid has a fixed volume but not a fixed shape. If you put it into a graduated cylinder, it will take the shape of the cylinder. If you put it into a bowl, it will take the shape of the bowl.
A pipette is a lab tool that is basically a chemical dropper that delivers a fixed amount of liquid. A burette is also a dropper, but the amount of liquid that is able to be dispensed is variable.
There are manu instruments capable of measuring liquid volume:In laboratories, typical volume measuring devices include graduated cylinders and beakers, and measuring/volumetric flasks. For home use, the equivalents are measuring cups and spoons. If you wanted to put a precise volume of a liquid into a jar you might use a burette (a graduated glass tube with a tap at the bottom that you can let exactly the right amount through).Or you could use a pipette (a glass tube with a bulge in the middle and a line on the neck. You suck liquid up until it reaches the line and depending on what the size of the pipette is you have an exact quantity.A measuring jug or normal scales works millilitres and grams are the same.Mathematically, if you know the dimensions of the container of the liquid you can find it's volume and calculate the volume.Or you could find the volume indirectly: for example by measuring the time it takes to fill at a known flow rate, or by measuring the mass of liquid and using the density. They use a graduated cylinder.graduated cylinderbeaker or measuring cylinder.
No, liquids do not have a fixed volume - their volume is that of the container
A gas has no fixed volume or shape.
A solid has a fixed volume and does not change shape.
A solid has a fixed volume and form. A liquid has a fixed volume but has the form of a container. A gas has not a fixed volume or form.
