I high INR reading does not technically means your blood is too "thin." It means that it takes your blood longer to clot.

If pt level is low is your blood to thin or thick?

Too thick. PT stands for Prothrombin Time. The lower the PT value the faster (fewer number of seconds) the blood takes to clot- the blood is "thicker". The higher the PT value the longer the blood takes to clot because the blood is "thinner".

Is blood thicker or thinner in winter?

Blood is thicker in the winter, which prevents heat loss. Conversely, it is thinner in the summer, which allows more heat to escape, cooling the body. This is while a 60 degree day in October feels a lot colder than a 60 degree day in February.

Is the walls of a artery thicker than a vein?

Veins have thin walls because blood that flows through them is usually low in pressure while the blood that flows through the arteries are usually of high pressure. The walls are thick to prevent bursting.

Why do arteries have thicker walls then veins?

Because arteries are narrower, thus increasing the pressure in the arteries. So you need thicker walls to contain the blood under pressure.

Does your blood thin out When you move south?

Moving south does not necessarily thin your blood, but moving to a lower altitude can. When you live in a higher altitude, your body makes more red blood cells for carrying oxygen to compensate for the fact that the air is thinner. Hence in a way your blood is "thicker" at higher altitudes and "thinner" at lower altitudes. Many areas of the American South, such as Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, and coastal Carolina and Georgia, are very close to sea level and therefore have a lower altitude. Only in this way could moving south "thin your blood". However, in other areas of the world, moving south may not have any effect on your blood cells. Note, "thinner blood" is also an expression that some people use to describe the phenomenon of becoming less accustomed to cold weather after moving south. This is just an expression and is not meant literally.

Why is your blood bright red and thin if beta blocker is not a blood thinner?

All blood will have a similar consistency (it is mostly water, after all), and the red color is indicative of exposure to oxygen - blood taken from a vein in a manner avoiding exposure to oxygen will be noticeably darker than arterial blood or blood exposed to air (as in a cut). Beta blockers (or beta agonists) are indeed not a blood thinner, but rather act to reduce the effects of adrenaline, a major stress hormone, thereby minimizing the risks caused by high blood pressure. Your blood will not be noticeably different than anyone else's on visual inspection, and any such observation is likely merely perception rather than indicative of a real difference.
