The Jaguar is a large cat species "Panthera once", they are listed "near threatened" by the International Union of Conservation for Nature or the IUCN Red List. They are also listed as "endangered" by the US Fish and Wildlife Services, Endangered Species List, and they are protected by CITES appendix I as well. They are often seen in zoos, or wildlife preserves, especially those that focus on endangered species, and the big cats.
