No, they both are comparable. The Kelvin scale starts at absolute zero and is used in scientific laboratories. Celsius is for general use and set 0 and 100 as melting and boiling point of water respectively. To convert from C to K or vice-versa, add or subtract 273.15 to or from temperatures..

One kelvin is the same magnitude as 1 degree Celsius. However, the Kelvin scale is a ratio scale whereas the Celsius scale is only an interval scale. This means that 12K is 3 times as "hot" as 4K. The same cannot be said for the Celsius scale.

Is a kelvin equal to a Celsius?

Units are the same. Temperatures in kelvin are 273 more than celsius temperatures.

Is 270 Celsius warmer than 270 kelvin?

Yes, Celsius is converted to Kelvin by adding 273 to your given Celsius temp. Therefore, 270 Celsius is equal to 270+273=543 Kelvin. 543>270 So 270 celsius is warmer than 270 Kelvin

Why do you use kelvin instead of Celsius?

Kelvin and Celsius are both units used to measure temperature. Celsius is typically used in countries that use the metric system. Kelvin is used in a scientific or academic setting, because it's scale is more precise than Celsius.

How do you change kelvin to Celsius?

Add 273.15°. You cannot have less than 0 Kelvin or -273.15 Celsius.

Which is colder zero degrees Celsius or zero Kelvin?

0 Kelvin is much colder than 0 Celsius:0 kelvin = -273.15 degrees Celsius

Celsius degree larger than a kelvin degree?

No, the interval of one degree is identical in the Celsius and in the Kelvin scale. However Kelvin starts at absolute zero (-273.15 °Celsius) while 0 °Celsius is 273.15 Kelvin.

Is -90 degrees celsius higher than 193 kelvin?

Yes, 193 kelvin is equal to -80 Celsius.

Is 100 celsius less than 373 kelvin?

They are virtually equal: 100 degrees Celsius = 373.15 kelvin

Is 100 degrees Kelvin the same as 100 degrees Celsius?

No. (Note that you don't say "100 degree Kelvin"; "100 Kelvin" is correct.) 100 Kelvin is about 273 degrees (Kelvin or Celsius) less than 100 degrees Celsius.

Why do you use kelvin scale?

Kelvin Scale is an absolute temperature scale. This means that it starts at a different point than Celsius, its counterpart. This is why you must add 273.15 to a Celsius temperature in order to get a Kelvin temperature. The Kelvin scale starts at absolute zero whereas Celsius starts at the freezing point of water. Kelvin is used more often in science such as in the ideal gas equation. It is more convenient to use it than Celsius when dealing with very cold temperatures and with things like the Perfect Gas Laws which reference absolute zero.

Does Celsius have a smaller degree value than kelvin?

no

Why does the percent error calculation have to be performed in celsius rather than kelvin?

That is just utter nonsense. Kelvin is the absolute scale so percentages should be calculated in Kelvin and not Celsius.
