It, like all licensing requirements, varies on the state. I am a Licensed School counselor in Michigan, with no teaching certificate. In Michigan if I had a teaching certificate I would be certified as a school counselor, not licensed. There appears not to be a set guideline for abbreviating Licensed School Counselor.
National School Counselor falls in with National School Counselor week. In 2013, the dates were February 4-8. In 2014, the dates were February 3-7.
