No. The Light Dragon on DragonVale is not considered a Gemstone Dragon. The Light Dragon can be bred by using a Light Dragon and a Light Rift Dragon/Dark Rift Dragon. The Gemstone Dragons are the only dragons in the game that can produce gems.
