No, the Lynx is not considered a 'big cat'. The four species of cat that belong in the Lynx Genus are medium-sized wildcats. The Eurasian Lynx is the biggest of all Lynxes, ranging from 80 to 130cm in length and weighing as much as 18 to 30kg in males.

Comparing this with a Leopard, which is the smallest of the four 'big cat' species: A leopard usually reach lengths between 95 and 165cm in the head and body alone, and the tail reaches 60 to 110cm. A male leopard can weigh anything between 30 to 91kg, while a female usually weighs 23 to 60kg.
